The brief

Any company that hires more than occasionally needs one place to see every candidate and exactly where they are in the process. An Applicant Tracking System turns a messy inbox of resumes into a visual pipeline — Applied, Screen, Interview, Offer, Hired — so recruiters, hiring managers and founders always know who to move next. This is the screen talent teams live in all day.

What we built

HirePath is a working candidate board seeded with realistic, varied applicants across seven open roles. Every candidate is a draggable card with a star rating, source, location and how long they've been in the pipeline. A toolbar tracks live stats — total in pipeline, active, new this week, hired — and the board shows per-stage counts with proportion bars that animate as people move.

How it works

State lives in plain JS objects and every interaction re-renders the board live. Drag a card to any stage, or use the Back/Advance buttons (the last step reads “Hire”); arrow keys move a focused card for keyboard users. Click stars to rate, filter by role or search by name, source or location, and add a new candidate through a modal that drops them into Applied. In production we wire the same UI to a real candidate store, resume parsing, email and calendar integrations, and WebSocket updates so a whole hiring team stays in sync.
